Adelaide pairing of Damien Neische and Mitch Spear took out the 2015 SRRS Mildura Sidecar Masters in a action packed night of racing at Olympic Park Speedway Mildura. The South Australian team rode fast, smooth and incident free all night to top the point scorers chart on 14 points. Joining them in the final directly where local hard chargers Warren Monson and Andrew Summerhayes on 13 points and former locals Klae Hobbs and Jack Spear on 12 points. A Last chance B Final was conducted were the winner would join the top three in the final. Due to the racing being so close all night the B final ended up being a five rider final due to not being able to split the riders up on the countback of points. Riders that competed in the B final were Rob Patterson and Franco, Dave Bottrell and Deven Gates, Neale Hancock and Brendan Johnson, Trent Headland and Daz Whetstone and Aaron and Tegean Hartwig. In the first attempt of the race the Patterson/Franko team were excluded for bringing down the Hancock/Johnson Combination, in the second attempt of the race Aaron and Tegean Hartwig were excluded for being the course of a big first bend crash where Dave Bottrell and Deven Gates crashed hard and unfortunately couldn’t take there place in the re run. In the 3rd and final attempt of the race the Hancock/Johnson combination got the better of the Headland/Whetstone team in a thrilling race to qualify for the Final. The final itself was another cracker with Neische and Spear taking a early lead but being chased hard by the Monson and Summerhayes, after a slight mistake Monson and Summerhayes lost ground and went back into third place behind the Hoobs/Spear team in a bold racing move Monson tried to go around Hobbs coming out of turn four but unfortunately hit the fence down the front straight which resulted in a nasty crash. The final was declared because the last lap had started and Neische and Spear were declared the winners from Hobbs and Spear and third went to the local team in Hancock and Johnson. Other teams that showed good form but just missed the cut for the finals were Byren Gates and Mick O’Loughlin and the fast gating Dale Milner and Nick O’Brien. Now the attention turns to the Currans Used Cars Victorian Sidecar Championship this Saturday night where World Champions Darrin Treloar and Blake Cox and Australian Champions Justin Plaisted and Sam Harrison have entered along with the best sidecar teams in the country. Then on Sunday January the 10th the 2016 Coomealla Memorial Sporting Club Australian Solo Championship final is on where International Speedway stars in Sam Masters, Justin Sedgmen, Max Fricke and Nick Morris are in action.
