Byren Gates and Mick O’Loughin are gearing up for what they do best competing in another long hard summer season of sidecar racing all over the country. This weekend the locals will turn there attention to the Sunraysia and Riverland Refrigeration services Mildura Sidecar Masters this Sunday night December 27th. The former State Champions and multiple national finalists returned to there best form last season after a horror 2013/14 season. Gates who has seen it all in his 25 plus years of racing sidecars is particularly keen to get back in the saddle with the incentive of having both the Victorian and Australian Sidecar Championships at his home track this season he added “its always nice to come and ride at home its going to be another big summer of sidecar racing and hopefully we can continue our form from last season and win a few things along the way obviously the aussie titles is the one everyone has there eye on”. O’Loughlin who has been on the back of Gates for the last 8 years too is also excited to be back in action he added ” I’m really looking forward to be being back on the bike especially with so many big meeting’s at Mildura this year, hopefully we can win the Masters this weekend and kick off our season”. Gates and O’Loughin though won’t have it there own way with a number of very classy riders racing this weekend. Riders include arch rival and Local Australian Number two Warren Monson, former Australian number two Dave Bottrell with Byren’s brother Deven in the chair and South Australian hard charging combination’s in Trent Headland and Aaron and Tegan Hartwig.
