MILDURA SIDECAR MASTERS TO ENTERTAIN VISITORS

Olympic Park Speedway, Mildura will play host to the Sunraysia Riverland Refrigerated Services, 2015 Mildura Sidecar Masters on Sunday 27th December, when some of the best Sidecar exponents will come to Mildura to play in front of a crowd of visitors and Sunraysia Speedway fans.

The Sunday evening event will be chock full of excitement as riders come to get extra ‘track time” prior to the 2016 Australian Sidecar Championship which will be held in the second weekend in April next year.

A big crowd of locals and visitors to Sunraysia is expected and the riders will be “primed” and ready to go after the consumption of the Christmas Turkey just two days before, but the action will be serious once the tapes are stretched across the newly refurbished Olympic park circuit.

Australian number two and former Victorian Champion,  Warren Monson / Andrew Summerhayes and former Vic Champions Byren Gates / Mick O’Loughlin, will be swapping paint with former Australian number 2 and now Queensland resident, Dave Bottrell, who will take to Olympic Park with experienced local passenger Deven Gates back from a long injury lay off, while SA’s Damian Niesche / Mitch Spear, the Hartwig brother/sister combination, Arron and Teagan and Trent Headland and Daz Whetstone will be putting in some good rides to make sure that they make it into the finals.

A full field of sixteen riders will contest the Masters event over twenty heats and two finals. A strong field of locals is included in the list with Neale Hancock / Brendan “Tub” Johnson, Dale Milner / Nick O’Brien, Chris Dess / Brenton Kerr and AJ Pearce / Emily Seymour will contest against regular SA visitor, Klae Hobbs / Jack Spear. Down from Roxby Downs is Steve Brown / Scott Morris, while Victorians in the field include Ash & Mitch Duncan, Mark Radford / Chris Walker against NSW riders, Rick Stephens / Justin Richards and Queenslander Rob “The Fruitbat” Patterson with Franco, in the chair.

The recent  big refurbishment spend has paid huge dividends for the Club with competitor and pit facilities now being world class, while the track fence, including AirFence is probably the safest existing speedway track around. Facilities for patrons are now of a great standard, with good and “free” grandstand accommodation available for patrons comfort.

Classic Sidecars and a good Reserve field containing Nathan Cock and Kayne McMahon, Steve Radford and Blake Halls and Paul Donnelly and Jake Roberts will provide entertainment at Sunraysia’s great “family” venue as thirty events are set for the night, which will commence at 7:30pm.

Gates will open to the public at 5:00pm and a Junior program will begin at 6:15pm.

Olympic Park is a family first facility with a full catering service available to the public. There must be no BYO by Law. Next meeting at Olympic Park is the 2016 Victorian Sidecar Championship on Saturday January the 2nd were some huge names have nominated.
